1972 Chevy Vega Coupe - Blue (Ertl American Muscle) 1/18
![]() Chevrolet introduced its Vega sub-compact in 1971, and it was the smallest car ever produced by Chevrolet. Its size was a sign of the times taxes, gas and insurance prices, and the unemployment rate, were rising so it was necessary to offer economy that could keep Americans on the road. Chevrolet literature touted its Vega as "The Little Car That Grows on You," and the 72 model did just that, "growing" on more than 360,000 car buyers.
