![]() Chaparral Cars was founded by Texan Jim Hall who boasted just the right combination of engineering and race car driving skills to make his cars dominant. Their unique appearance made them distinctive and they enjoyed years of success throughout the decades of the 1960s and 1970s, even winning the Indy 500 race in 1980. Despite this fact, Chaparral cars left motor racing in 1982.
