1955 Chevy Bel Air Coupe (Ertl Elite) 1/18
![]() It's no wonder the '55 Chevrolet BelAir has become the rolling stock of the American dream. The all-new body style wowed the public with its clean lines and the love affair continues to this day. What an extreme styling departure the '55 was from the 1954 models, but even more radical for Chevy, famous for its reliable Stoveball Six, was the all-new 265 cubic inch V8, optional across the line-up. The line-up began with the no-frills One-Fifty Series, followed by the Two-Ten models, and the top-of-the-line Bel Air, offered as a two- or four-door sedan, sport coupe, convertible, and station wagon. Today the 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air, like blue jeans, is an American icon known the world around, while the small block Chevy, its basics still unchanged, continues to rock 'n roll!
