Bobby Yowell first burst onto the drag racing scene in the late 1960's, in NHRA's E-Sports Class. By 1971, Bobby had "graduated" up to NHRA ProStock racing, feilding a Sox & Martin prepared Hemi-Duster. The car was one of the first race cars to feature a Greg of Akron custom paint job, and won many awards. The "Green Car" featured a two sided mural that was unique for its time and was the "Best Appearing Car" wherever it raced. Bobby and the Hemi Duster with tunnel ram, ran a best of 9.68 ET-143 mph and was runner up at the 1972 IHRA Pro Am Nationals. This car also held the AHRA MPH record for Pro Stock eliminator at 142.95 set at West Palm Beach, Fla. and was also runner up Division III Pro Stock Eliminator points in '71.
