![]() After an impressive 2002 season, which saw Tohru Ukawa finish 3rd in the Riders Championship, Ukawa joined Max Biaggi at the newly formed Camel Pramac Pons team for '03. Riding the powerful V5 4-stroke Honda RC211V motorcycle, Ukawa produced consistent results with 3 top-5 finishes to finish 8th overall in the Championships. Retiring from the World Championships after the last race of the 2003 season, the Japanese ace drew a close to his long career which saw him make a total of 124 appearances in the 250cc, 500cc and MotoGP classes. Scoring close to 40 podium finishes, Ukawa remains one of Japan's most popular riders.
