The 1970 Dodge Coronet R/T with optional 426 Hemi was not, perhaps, the best-looking Mopar on the street. With it's divided "loop" bumper/grilles, the Coronet looked a bit swollen. Looks can be deceiving though and it was certainly among the fastest. The Ramcharger fresh air hoodscoops came standard as part of the Hemi option that year. The nonfunctional rear quarter panel side scoops were part of the R/T package. This car was considered a street racer and drag strip performer and came with heavy-duty driveline components to handle the awesome torque and horsepower the Hemi produced. The 425 horsepower engine was nick named the 'elephant' engine. Unfortunately, with all this came the penalty of higher insurance premiums, and although street racing was surely a thrill, 1970 is considered the peak of the muscle car era, and this is the last year that the Coronet was built.

The Dodge Coronet R/T (Road and Track) was Mopar's factory muscle car offering in the intermediate class, available with engines up to the 426 Hemi or 440 Magnum. The 1969–1970 Super Bee, based on the Coronet, offered similar performance in a more stripped specification. The Coronet nameplate dates to 1949, making it one of Dodge's longest-running nameplates.

This 1/18 scale replica of the 1970 Dodge Coronet in Black, Purple is produced by YatMing to collector-grade specifications.
