Highway 61 announces the release of their 1/16 scale diecast metal 1946 Chevy® and GMC Grain Trucks!
These models are highly-detailed replicas that include operating dump bed, split opening tailgate, grain scoop shovel, opening hood & doors, fully-detailed engine and steerable front wheels.
First introduced in the fall of 1940, these trucks featured all-new styling, influenced by the Art Deco period of industrial design. The sealed-beam headlights were streamlined into the fenders, instead of mounted on top as on previous models. A 90-hp, 216 c.i. straight six cylinder engine was standard in the Chevy®, with an optional 93-hp 235 c.i. "Load Master" that generated 192 ft./lbs. of torque. Three different engines were available in the GMC version, topping out at 270 c.i. Production ran until May of 1947, when they were replaced with the "Advance Design Series" of trucks.
