The Pontiac Star Chief began as Pontiac's prestigious new A-Body car model of 1954 and in 1957 the Pontiac Starchief Custom Bonneville was produced with new styling and high-performance options. The Bonneville became the top-of-the-line Pontiac model in 1958 and in 1959 the Starchief was only available as a hardtop or sedan. As the 60's saw even more new models and styling, the Starchief looked very similar to the Catalina, though they boasted more horsepower and available upgrades. It underwent a name change in 1966, becoming known as the Starchief Executive, finally being replaced all-together by the Pontiac Executive model.

American muscle cars of the 1960s and early 1970s represent the high-water mark of factory-built performance in automotive history. Insurance surcharges, emissions regulations, and the 1973 oil crisis combined to end the original muscle car era almost overnight. Today these vehicles are among the most actively collected American automobiles, with exceptional examples regularly achieving six-figure prices at major auctions.

This 1/18 scale replica of the 1955 Pontiac in Blue, White is produced by SunStar Platinum to collector-grade specifications. At 1/18 scale — the most popular collector scale — the model measures approximately 10 inches in length and displays beautifully on a shelf or in a glass cabinet. Every detail — from paint finish to badging — is reproduced from measurements taken from the original vehicle.
