The Corvette C5R entered the 2001 Grand American Road Racing Series Rolex 24 Hours Internation Speedway in Daytona. There were 80 cars and over 300 drivers competing in the race. The #2 C5R, driven by Ron Fellows, Chris Kneifel, Johnny O'Connell and Franck Freon won the race by finishing 1st overall. The car lapped the 3.56 mile course 656 times to complete 2,335 miles at an average speed of 97.3 MPH.
