The limited edition 1968 Mustang California Special was built and exclusively sold in California due to the enormous popularity of the Mustang there. The GT/CS was only available in a hardtop coupe and it is often mistaken for a Shelby. A prominent element of the GT/CS is the distinct rear section consisting of a fiberglass rear deck lid and quarter panel extensions with integral spoiler. The unique GT/CS marking is etched into the triple body striping with a chrome "California Special" script secured to the rear quarter panels. The front grille lacks the horse and corral emblem recognizable on the '68 Mustang model and the factory installed chrome hood locks with a quarter turn design secure the hood to special latched bolted to the radiator support. This Greenlight Collectibles limited edition 1/18 scale diecast model car replica of the Ford Mustang GT/CS "California Special" is guaranteed to be just as collectible as the GT/CS itself!
