In celebration of the new millenium, the Corvette Racing Team came to the opening race at Daytona with all new colors as well as a much improved Corvette C5-R. Under the new Millennium Yellow paint scheme is an enlarged LS1 engine taken out to 7.0 liters. A new aerodynamic nose helps this American racing legend slip through the air and at the same time help reduce the overall co-efficient of drag.

Returning veteran drivers Ron Fellows, Chris Kneifel, Andy Pilgrim and Kelly Collins will be joined by international drivers in Frank Freon and Justin Bell. This new driver lineup will lead the new C5-R assault at the world's most prestigious race venues including the 24 Hours of LeMans.
