The GMC 6000 Series set the standard for short-cab trucks in the mid 1970s. The 97-1/2" BBC (Bumper-to-Back-of-Cab) allowed bigger payload, longer body or trailer, good weight distribution and ease of maneuvering. Short-hood design aided down-front visibility as well, and put the 230 horsepower, 427 V-8 engine components within easy reach for maintenance and repair. As lasting tribute to the rugged engineering of the GMC 6500 Sierra and Chevy version C-65 is that many of these trucks are still on the job today!
The Highway 61 Collectibles GMC 6000 Series is a highly-detailed 1:16 replica over 18-1/2" long. Features include steerable front wheels, opening hood and doors, fully plumbed and wired 427 'big-block' V-8 engine, soft mudflaps, chains and binders to secure loads.
