For the first time, the 1964 Impala SS became a distinct line unto itself, available in convertible or two-door hardtop configuration only. Standard equipment mirrored the Impala with the addition of interior features such as leather-grained vinyl interior and individual bucket seats. On the outside the SS featured distinctive wider upper moulding and the SS badge on the rear fenders and deck lid.
