Though the Talladega was a bit heftier and weightier than other Torino models, the 428 CJ still pushed it to mid-14 second 1/4-miles. However, it was much better suited to left-hand turns on an ovel race-track. At the time the 754 racing-inspired Torino Talladega cars were built, Ford's hopes rested on the slope-nosed fastback.
